Her Background
The only child of her gypsy parents Curtis and Marcia, Francesca was born during one windy October afternoon on the outskirts of Floaroma Town. Since she was young enough to remember the trio, together with the other fourteen people in their travelling group, would tour Sinnoh on a pretty constant basis, stopping for months at a time outside a certain city or town before taking off again at a moment's notice.

They say that children develop habits from their parents and Francesca was no exception. Marcia was and still is more more of a magician than her common-law husband, often providing entertainment in the form of illusions, berries, confetti and fire. Curtis was a good performer and trickster in his own right but singing was his main passion. As well as showing off and calling himself "awesome" at every given chance. So it was only natural that Francesca wanted to also be a magician.

When she was sixteen Francesca, with permission from her doting parents, set off to travel on her own. She spent a year in Johto, mainly sticking to Olivine City and the neighbouring area, before spending another two in Hoenn, where she explored the whole region. It was in Hoenn that she started perfecting her magic act more; before that it was only basic tricks using her four Pokemon.

Her ultimate dream is to emulate Marcia in terms of magic and she's somewhat on the way; Francesca can conjure up clothes and chocolate unlike her Mother. A lesser desire is to own a Persian or a Delcatty; happy memories in the past being her reason.

Her Personality
For the most part Francesca is an extremely friendly and jovial young woman who strongly believes that the grass is greener on her side. As a result of her background she talks in a relatively simple vocabulary but she never speaks in malice; it takes a lot for this girl to lose her temper or feel depressed. Francesca also has no qualms in talking to strangers, no matter who they are, to either have a pleasant chat with them about anything and everything, perform a few tricks to entertain them or to try and cheer them up; she hates seeing people down.

Francesca is also, despite her strong independence, amazingly talkative and highly prone to going off in tangents when nattering. For a woman in her early twenties she also carries a lot of silly, childish tendencies; another consequence of having to grow up so quickly. This is something that doesn't bother her one bit; "acting a little immature every-so-often makes life so refreshing! So entertaining!"

However like everyone, she is laced with flaws that she struggles to get a grip on mentally. Brazenly chatting to strangers? That's no problem to her. Yet should that acquaintance appear more frequently in her life? For reasons she seriously has troubles in confessing out into the open Francesca will clam up, will try and shove them away, will get rather defensive and immature.

She also had similar problems when it comes to romance. In events relating to her friendship struggles she found no problem in flirting with whoever she found attractive, male or female, and playing tonsil tennis with somebody she fancied and has only known for an hour or two was nothing. If the object of her temporary affections just so happened to be around more often, just happen to develop feelings for her? He or she would straight away have been told to "shove it" while her face went as red as her hat.

That was how it was for four years until one day, when he asked her out while helping her look for her Chinglings, Francesca found herself not telling Pearl where to go and incidentally, agreed to date him. That ol' blushing habit is still very much there though.

It could be that Awesome Island's reason for bringing Francesca into its fray is to help her get over that one blip that tarnishs her otherwise carefree and exciting childhood and so far it can be said that it is working; her being with Pearl is proof of that. However there is still many rungs of the ladder to climb for she firmly believes that when she is ready, she can leave Awesome Island just as suddenly as she arrived...

Beware if you have a small Pokemon, are a child or just happen to be eating swiss chocolate. You will be submerged in mass squee.

Also do not get her started on Arceus. Francesca believes in His existence but has some serious, touchy, personal problems with Him...
